replace outlook2000 with 2003

I was going to install Microsoft Office 2003 professional, but it says
before I can install Outlook 2003, I must delete Outlook 2000. What would
happen to all my files? Is this safe?

Although your data files *should* remain just fine, you should always do a
good backup before installing a newer version of Outlook.
