Replace drum in Kyocera

T

Tom

I have a Kyocera FS 3820 that made some black lines in the middle of the
paper.
It had done 200000 prints and the drum looked a bit scratched, so I took the
drum from another 3820 and inserted that, worked fine.
Then I order a new drum for the printer, but after I have inserted the new
drum and powered up the printer, I get an error saying "Call Service
7410:0001072".
Can anyone here tell me what that is all about?
Does the printer need to be reset, or is there something wrong with the new
drum?

Does it go away if you put the old drum back?

Yes it does, and I can take a used drum from another Kyocera 3820 and
insert, and it will work.
It is only a problem with the new one. Maybe you need to press something to
reset the printer when a new drum is used?
Normally Kyocera error codes starts with A,B,C,D,E or F but this shows only
7410:0001072

Have you asked Kyocera? You may have a faulty drum unit.

Tony

Error code 7410 indicates that the printer can not see the drum.
The problem was that they send me a drum for a 3830, and i have 3820.
Thank you all for your inputs.
