How to replace a DC defunct in a Domain Windows 2000 native mode.... whitout
lost the object created in this Domain controller?

Someone can help us??

Thank u

Ruggiero

This is going to depend on a couple of things;
1) Are there other operational dc's still there in this domain
2) Was/is this the Only dc that was in the domain, and it is no longer
operational.

If other dc's available, and this box is dead/crashed/etc, then seize any
fsmo roles that it might have had to another dc, run ntdsutil to do a
"metadata cleanup" of it to remove it from AD, make sure that at least one
of them is a GC, and then it could be re-installed and brought back into the
domain again as server or dc.
If it was the only dc in the domain, then you'd need to do a restore with
system state, to try and get it functioning again.
Being in native mode will limit some things that can be done, but your post
wasn't really clear on what you have, what happened, and exactly what you
wanted to do.

We're in first case, but our doubt is about the objects created on the
defunct DC.
This object will appaire in lost & found container?
We haven't any backup of AD
Can we just move in the right container or OU or we must remade them ?

Thank U

You may be able to just move them, but it depends on if it's a single object
or an object that has other things under it. Was this an OU that was
deleted on the defunct DC, and before that deletion replicated to other dc's
other objects were added into it?
If you could, please try to explain exactly what this object is, what it may
have in it, and the history behind it.
thanks
