repeating projects with pre-defined tasks

I use Outlook 2003 with Windows XP on a brand new Dell. In the contact
manager that I used prior to Outlook I could choose a contact and select
"create listing" or "create closing" (I'm a real estate agent). That would
trigger the creation of a project ("listing") with pre-defined tasks that
were automatically added to the daily task list at the appropritate time.
For instance, "create listing" entailed tasks such as "send data to mls,
place sign, write newspaper ad, send announcements, etc". Each of those
items were assigned a time to appear on my daily task list such as "1 day
from start" or "30 days from start". Since most of the tasks associated with
taking a listing are always the same, this feature was a real time and energy
saver. Is it possible to set up something similar in Outlook?

Not without extensive programming to set up that kind of workflow. Why not just use what you had been using? Sounds like it is specifically tailored to your profession.

Hi Milly,
Thanks for the reply. I stopped using it because the company stopped
supporting the software when they went to a web based system that costs
around $55 per month. It is also set up in such a way that exporting your
data should you ever want out is a nightmare. Since it is industry specific,
the resources allocated to improvements and tech support are sorely lacking.
One good feature isn't enough to justify using it in the face of all the
serious problems.

Unfortunately, you will require some intermediate programming skills in VBA to mirror what that particular program did. Outlook offers nothing like it out of the box.
