In addition to doing an install and selecting repair, as RJS noted, you
can take the first option and run the Recovery Console. You can use the
command prompt of the Recovery Console to copy backup copies of your
registry hives to repair corrupted hives. There are several
KnowledgeBase articles that describe different scenarios depending on
what your error message indicates is wrong. The basic technique is to
find the most recent backup copy of the damaged hive (SOFTWARE and
SYSTEM are the two most common corruptions) in the NTbackup folder or by
extracting a hive from the SVI folder that is created by System Restore.
Post back and let us know what error you are trying to fix and we can
find you the appropriate KB article with step by step commands for RC.
