It depends on what system you have.
If the manufacturer put a recovery partition with all the software on your
machine, you may be able to restore it to exactly as it left the factory
from that partition.
But unless it has the capacity to make a recovery disk, and you actually did
it, then you can not 'repair' it without the disk.
I heard that SP1 will include the installable WinRE (Recovery Environment),
but I am not sure, as I heard this a long time ago, and I don't waste my
time with beta service packs, like some kids.
