Repair W2k?

I started my W2k to repair it as could be done with NT4, but it seemed to
start installation so I stopped it. Can it just repair?
If not, how much will be lost with a new installation, all programs but not
folders?
 
This is a question for a Windows 2000 newsgroup, not this one which is
devoted to Microsoft Access database software. Check the list of sponsored
newsgroups at news.microsoft.com and I suspect you'll find one or more that
appear appropriate.
