**URGENT HELP REQUIRED**

Hello,

can anyone please help?

i have recently had a computer come to me that was only booting in safe
mode, so i decided to try and repair the operating system,
after it had installed the setup files it then continued to roll over, it
did not complete setup. it rebooted everytime it started to load the setup.

i booted the computer without restarting on system failiure and found that i
had the following error message everytime it was rolling over:

VETEFILE.SYS error

STOP: 0x00000050 (0xF6FFFFF8, 0x00000001, 0xF6DCB5B1, 0x00000000)
VETEFILE.SYS - address F6DCB5B1 base at F6DB5000 date stamp 43D06767

can anyone please tell me what is happening and how to get past this problem?

Thank you!!

Well, I think that file is part of the Computer Associates AntiVirus
application.

However - the application is not your problem - looks like bad ram to me.
Replace the RAM or if you just installed new RAM, remove the new stuff.

Reseat the memory.
Replace the memory if that does not work.
