Repair mdb file

Whenever i open my mdb file (ver 97) it shows database is corrupted and need
for repair. I've tried using access's repair/compact utilities but then it
shows unrecognized database format. Any other utilities that i can use to
repair the mdb file? Please advice.

Thanks

Try creating a brand new database. Then use:
File > Get External Data...> Import

Try importing all of the tables first. If you have any custom menus &
toolbars or import / export specifications, use the Options button after
selecting the target database and place check marks to import these as well.
Does it let you get this far, or does it complain with a similar message
indicating corruption? If you are successful, then continue the process by
importing each group of objects (queries, forms, reports, etc.) one group at
a time. This is the recommended method, even though Access will let you
import all objects in one operation.

Set any references in the same order and attempt to compile the database.
Set any startup options to match the source database as well.

If you cannot import any objects you may be able to use other methods to
recover your database. There are also lots of paid professional services that
are ready and willing to help you out for a fee.

For more information on corruption including possible causes,
