Hi, I have a corrupt version of WindowsXp Home that I was
trying to repair and am running into ALL sorts of
problems. First, when I startup my system with the
WindowsXp CD in the CDROM Drive, I am not brought to the
Windows Install page but instead, my system starts from
the CD. My first question is how do I get the system to
bring me to the WindowsXp install screen so that I can
choose repair?
My next question I assume is a more serious "problem",
Since I was unable to get to the WindowsXp install screen
via startup, I clicked on My Computer and Opened the
WindowsXp CD that way.
I was asked if I want to Upgrade (which I found curious
since WindowsXp Home is already installed) I clicked OK
and the Upgrade install began. With about 13 minutes left
in the install, I received an error message titled
UNREGMPZ.EXE-Entry Point Not Found with The Proceedre
entry point GETIUMS could not be located in the link
library MSDART.DLL. From what little I know, this does
NOT look good and would appreciate your help.
Again, my objective is to Repair WindowsXp Home.
Thank you,
Bob
