Repair IE on SONY Vaio

Hi,

I need to reinstall / repair IE 6.0 on my sony Laptop.
I don't have a Windows XP home SP2 CD with me. Can I do this using the
recovery utility provided by Sony.

My Laptop comes preinstalled with WIN XP Home SP2.
 
probably the Sony disk will give you a clean install from the factory or
nothing. I believe you cannot just re-install the ie portion.

what about the ie update site? are you online with a fat connection?
