Repair defect JPEGs

I'm searching for a freeware tool to repair/open defect JPEG files.
Irfanview gives me at some JPEG files the following error: "Can't read
file header." (Translated from german to english)

I found this one but I'm not sure if it will do want you want.
I don't have any corrupted files to test it on.
