Renaming Domain?

I need to rename our Windows 2000 Server Domain, its
currently called 'domain'. I want to change it
to 'something.com.au'.

The server is in Mixed mode, but I have no secondary
server to demote it too.

So I think I have to pretty much start from scratch with a
new domain? Is there a certain way I should uninstall the
current 'domain' to start again with the new domain?

One way to do this without reinstalling the domain is to
upgrade to Windows Server 2003 and it's functionality that
allows domain rename operations.
