renaming cell

Hi,

I had named a cell C45 as "Debt_97" followed by D45 as Debt_98 and s
on. However, I needed to shift the names 1 cell to the left in such
way that now cell C45 should be renamed as "Debt_96", cell c46 a
"Debt_97".

I tried to rename the cells, but dunno why the cells are not gettin
renamed. In the name box, when I type Debt_97, instead of renaming,
am directed to cell C45.

Please tell me what wrong am i doing..

Go to the Insert Menu, then go down to Names and Define...

Click on the Name you want to change, then in the box at the botto
type in the new cell reference, repeat for all names where the cell i
changing...
