could someone please help me with a bit of wisdom? I renamed the
extension of a 16GB truecrypt volume, from without an extension, to
a .dll . now, when I attempt to change it back to a file without an
extension, I get nothing but an hourglass. running winxp sp3. please
help, thank you.

Just perhaps, be very patient as Windows "might" be trying to garner the
normal info from what it thinks is a dll file. I get a long stall sometimes
entering a folder with a bunch of zip/rar type files in it. Assume the
various handlers (shell extensions etc.) are trying to do their thing.

Thank You for the help, but I figured it out. I had named it the same
as a legit windows dll. It turns out that windows has a problem with
ya trying to change the extesions of legit dll's. I just changed the
filename, then changed the extension. no problem.
Thank you
