Hello Gerry!
| George
|
| You need to make clear when you post whether you are referring to
| Windows XP or Vista. The way each works is not the same.
Well If someone tells me how it's done in Vista, that I will know how to do
it in Vista.
If someone tells me how it's done in XP, that I will know how to do it in
XP.
And then I will do it, wherever I need to. It's simple as that: 'Any
solution for any of the above operating systems would be usefull to me'.
| You seem to be wanting to do strange things. It would be helpful to know
| why?
My workspace folder is S:\. That's 2 clicks away: My Computer, S:\
The less items to distract me in that folder, the better.
Anything that can be moved to another folder is a solution to clean my
workspace.
Any solution to clean my workspace is Greatly Appretiated! Here is the plan:
1. Items that will remain:
System Volume Information
2. Items that I found a solution to move to sub-folder:
pagefile.sys
3. Items that I would like to move to sub-folder or merge together:
$RECYCLE.BIN
RECYCLER
| With dual booting you need to be very careful because if one system can
| see the other the system running can damage the other system. You can
| share a pagefile and data files in their own partitions but each system
| partition must remain hidden from the other.
You mean that actions taken by the user can damage data or security
configuration of another OS in a doal-boot configuration. -- That's true.
Also actions taken by a bad program can cause this. -- True!
Two operating systems sharing the same computer means two operating systems
sharring the same computer. It does not mean that one will break the other.
You should not be so scared! I have 4 operating systems and no conflicts!
It's safe.
| Hope this helps.
