rename domain administrator

John

I am trying to rename the domain administrator account. I
renamed the account, restarted the DC, and successfully
logged on using the new username. However, I have noticed
2 problems. First, the logon name in the "Pre-Windows
2000 logon name" field reverts to the previous username.
Second, logging on with the domain admin account from a
client workstation on the domain works only with the
previous username, not the new username. Do you have any
suggestions?

Thank you,

John

Check to see if renaming the administrator account is configured in security
settings/local policies/security options in Local, Domain, or Domain Controller
Security policy. A setting in security policy could be reversing the change you
make for pre- Windows 2000, which is used whenever you log on without using upn
at a non domain controller member computer. --- Steve
