My brother in law has the Bargain Buddy spywear, the instructions tell
him to turn off Restore which I have done. It then says to remove old
restore points, how do I do that? thanks.

To delete all the restore points on your computer, disable and re-enable
system restore on the system. Click Start, Control Panel, and then the
System icon. Click on the System Restore tab in the dialog box, select the
Turn off System Restore check box, and click Apply. Clear the check box
again to re-enable System Restore and then click OK.

Are you installing the spyware or trying to remove it. Why would you want
to install it - it is adware. If you remove old restore points (included
restore
points generated prior to installation of the spyware) and then install the
spyware
it would be included in the next restore point generated- meaning you
could not
remove it by using a restore point - bad move in my opinion.

I agree with AJR! Why would you want to do anything suggested by "Bargain
Buddy?"

In order to remove it the instructions from both Trend Micro and
Symantec says to stop restore points then edit the registry, this way
there isn't a chance to use and infected restore point.

I should have said that the Anti Spywear instructions said not Bargain
Buddy.

Hi DJ,
AFAIK, those instructions are correct. Good Luck -
I think there is one way to prevent my brother in law from getting his
computer infected is to put it in the garbage. When I say don't open an
email from someone you don't know "I mean it" I told him. He then told
me the subject was "Sports" so "I thought it was for me" he said. It is
a loosing battle when he is concerned, he is totally lost.

Joel,
I know just how he feels. When it says "sex" I know it's for me. I never
have to buy Trojans 'cause my computer gets 'em free ;-)
