removing remote address

Jamie Zimmerman

Hi all, I am selling my computer to a friends friend, and I would like to
know how to remove the address that I used to connect to a remote desktop
with. I don't want him to access my computer from that computer at all, I
would like that address removed so if he ever decides to go to remote
desktop connections, he can't connect to my pc or pc's that I used to
connect to.

Thanks, Jamie

First off, you might want to wipe the hard drive and reinstall
Windows XP and whatever applications came with your computer
before you sell it. That way you can be reasonably sure that
none of your personal info can be accessed.

That said, the entries are stored in this registry key.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server
Client\Default

Here's an article with more info.

Thanks Nepatsfan, I did not realize that I should re-format because the
computer could fall into the wrong hands later down the line.
Thanks again.
