I have win xp home (don't have CD's...just recovery CD's)
I removed MS Money, came pre loaded, we don't use it, now whenever I open IE
I get an installer trying to install MS Money (and not able to b/c I have no
CD)
have to go through clicking cancel about 4-5 times over 3-4 mins for it to
stop.
I have a Compaq.
System restore to a point before I deleted the program doesn't help.
Any suggestions?

....Lisa

Did you actually uninstall it from Add/Remove, or just delete the program files? Just a guess, but probably there is some function that is set to load on system startup, and that is what is triggering the install prompt when it can't find the required files. To check for startup items, click Start, Run, enter msconfig click OK. Go to the Startup tab and look for an entry that has a name indicating it is part of Money. I personally don't use that program so not sure what the item name will be, and there might be more than one. Sometimes looking at the 'Command' path will shed more light. Reboot and see if the prompts go away.

Thanks for responding to my plea!!

I used Add/Remove.
I checked Startup items in msconfig and I see no items concerned with Money.
((sigh)

Not sure I made it clear, but this happens just when I open IE, not right
away when I boot up.

Here is a suggestion posted by MVP Carey Frisch that might help???

In addition to Bill's expert advice:

installation."

I am out of ideas. It's very weird and nothing I have run across before.
Wish I could offer more...
