In the add/remove programs > add/remove windows components
Windows component wizard, Outlook express is not checked
and therefore is not supposed to exist in the programs
menu. However Outlook Express icons still exist in the
Quick Launch bar and in Programs Menu. How do I uninstall
Outlook Express?. We are Outlook 2002, Office XP and IE 6.

So why uninstall it ?

There are advantages to OE without expressly using OE. For example, you can install a LDAP
account then you can go to;
start --> search --> for people
You can then access the LDAP server and lookup an email address. When you find that email
address, you can the also automatically install the associated security Certificate into the
"Other people" Certificate store.

As I understand it, its not reccommended to uninstall OE as files may be
used by other proccessess.
Allthough I see yr not using the OE Newsreader - a dedicated newsreader is
easier to use than web access -
Simply delete the shortcuts to hide the app, after all its not using much hd
space.

Leave OE alone Nina...

It's not a good idea doing that if your users will still be using Microsoft Internet Explorer. I understand that it can be done but there are reprocussions doing so. It would be best using Group Policy to make OEX unavailable instead.
