Removing Norton and Spysweeper

I use Windows Live One Care on my laptop and really like it. I have some
misgivings about NAV and Spysweeper. My home computer has been running very
sluggish and finicky and I think they may be contributing to the problems.
Can I just use the remove programs in control panels for this or should I use
something that does a complete job?
Also, my young son downloads alot of car racing games from the internet.
Could this be contributing to the slowness and sometimes unresponsiveness of
my home pc?

Michael,

Start by using the uninstaller in the Program group if it's there. If
not then use Add/Remove Programs from Control Panel.

Norton is notorious or nefarious for problems with uninstalls. You
should be prepared in ADVANCE by going to the Norton web site and DL the
program removal utility that they have there. They were shamed into this
a few years ago.

Lastly, you may even have to completely remove the Norton folder
followed by a registry search (for Norton, Symantec, NAV etc.) to remove
the damn thing.

You are correct that Norton slows down your computer - check this site out:

Good luck,
