Removing items from a Briefcase

Hi,
I want to remove a folder from a briefcase. Is there any way to do this
without deleting the briefcase and recreating it without the folder? If I
just delete the folder, then it will be deleted from the original when the
briefcase is updated. I just don't want it sync'ed in the briefcase.

Look up Briefcase in Help and support and click the following link.
Separate files stored in Briefcase from their counterparts outside Briefcase
 
Many thanks. I looked up remove from briefcase but got nothing useful.
