Hi,

I would like to manually remove an option from the boot
menu. I had a problem with an installation of Windows, so
I installed a clean copy. I cannot uninstall the other
installation, so I manually deleted the files. However,
not I want to remove the option from the boot menu, so no
one chooses this. How can this be done?

Thanks for your advice.

Hi Dirk,

Find the boot.ini file in the root of C:. Go to the properties of the file
and remove the read only check. Make a copy of the file for safety. You
can then double click on the file and edit it. You should find your old
installation under the "operating systems" section of the file and you can
delete that entry.

Hi Dirk,

Just look for the boot.ini file in the root of your system drive. It
contains the boot options you are looking for.

Hope that helps.
