Removing applications deployed by group policy

I have created an MSI file for an application and deployed this to a
computer by assigning it to a computer through group policy.

I now wish to remove this application from the workstation - I have
tried to do this by using add remove programms

but get the following error message

Error 1306 Another application has exclusive access to the file
c:\winnt\csc\00000001 Please shut down all other applications, then
retry

- the above mentioned path is on the file server.

any ideas how I can remove this app.

Pete,

How exactly are you trying to remove this GPO? It sounds
like you are trying to uninstall the application on the
workstation itself. Have you tried removing the GPO?
This might e a more efficient and productive way.

I am trying to de install the application. I have tried tweaking the
policy itself to remove the application - by setting options such as
deinstall when out of GPO control ? and then remove.

Doesn't seem to work. I can't shift it !
