Removing animation and transition from all slides at once

I have a powerpoint presentation (microsoft powerpoint 2002 sp 3) that
I was unable to email because it was too large. There are only 23
slides with some graphics.

I tried reducing the resolution but still couldn't send the file.

Compressing it with Winzip didn't make it small enough either.

I tried removing all transition by selecting all files then in custom
animation I selected "no transitions" and applied to all slides.
Nothing changed.

Eventually, I broke it into 3 presentations and was able to email them.

My 3 main questions are:
1. Can I remove all animation at once or do I have to go through each
slide to remove it?
2. Why didn't the option to remove transitions from all slides work?
3. Are there other ways to reduce the size of a powerpoint file?

Thanks for any light you can shed.

My guess is the resolution of your graphic images are way too large, or you
copied and pasted them onto your slides instead of using "Insert",
"Picture", "From file", your "Fast Saves" is turned on (under Tools,
Options, Save), or a combination of those.

Check out the following for info:

Thank you for answering one of my questions. Fast saves are already
turned off. I did not create this presentation but was asked to work
on it further, so I don't really know how the graphics were put into
the presentation. In future, I now understand why I should insert
picture from file rather than copy/paste.

I still need to know the following. Can anyone help?

1. Can I remove all animation from a presentation at once or do I have
to go through each slide to remove it?
2. Why didn't the option to remove transitions from all slides work?
