removing all file associations in XP

Not sure if this is the correct place to post, but I hope
so. I accidentally associated .evt files on my Windows XP
machine with Adobe Acrobat and notepad. I know how to
change these file associations to other programs, but is
there a way to totally remove file associations so they
are not associated with any file? TIA

Don't click on the .evt file, will give the same results.
