removing "adult links" from view toolbar in ie6.browser of my son's computer

Fly Trap

We can't figure out how to get rid of the "adult links" on
the view toolbar on the ie6 browser.

We also keep getting "adult links" pop-ups and other
annoying cookies when we go on the internet -- even though
we have cleaned and anti-virused ad nauseum.

Thank you

Fly,

Although I wouldn't trust the site that installed it, here is their link for
removal.

http://www.adultlinksco.com/uninst.html

More likely to trust another source such as these here.

Spyware Guide.com removal instructions
http://www.spywareguide.com/spydet_431_adult_links.html

Otherwise, use the following scanners to find and remove the parasites.
These prove handy to help you with other uncomfortable encounters of the
undesirable kind.

SpyBot S&D searches your harddisk for so-called spy- or adbots;
http://security.kolla.de/
or
Adaware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Download>install>update immediately>read help file>run program.

Be particularly careful in the use of Spybot S&D. Use Spyware Info support
forums for assistance.

Hey Lucky,

Use these substitute URL's for Doxdesk.
http://doxdesk.com/parasite/ http://217.115.153.73/parasite/

FYI, Andrew Clover of Doxdesk often has server issues and thus,
slow or no page loads - mind the BHO detection script does cause
the URL to load slower - by design.

Regards,

Hi,

First option is to run Ad-Aware scan (www.lavasoftusa.com). If the toolbar
entries are not removed still,

ToolbarCop: (Click ToolBand)
http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/sramesh2k/utils/ToolbarCop.exe

Manual Procedure:
Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe)
Go to the following location and check each GUID sub-key. One of which is
the malware toolbar entry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions

Also, check here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions
{check the values in the right-pane to identify the malware toolbar.)

Spot the entry and delete the appropriate key (backup the registry first)

Hi Siljaline,

I appreciate the extra links; the powers that be know that they are sorely
needed ones too. Naturally the script would slow it down, but even Sandi
Hardmeiers site, or the Jim Eshelman one isn't anywhere near that slow. Not
by a long shot.
