ATM? Adobe Type Manager? That has nothing to do with pdf files.
You need Adobe Acrobat tReader o read pdf files. It sounds like
you not only have the wrong program installed, but you also
somehow erroneously managed to associate it with pdf files.

I tried to remove all
adobe program. I cannot remove adobe type manager. The other adobe

Adobe is a company, not a program. The program you want is Adobe
Acrobat Reader. You can download it at
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Your Adobe type manager is running automatically when you start XP.
Since it was designed for Win9X and not XP, I'm not sure you can turn
it off in the configuration editor but you can try:

Click Start, RUN. Type in "msconfig.exe" (no quotes) press enter.
When the configuration editor opens, click the Startup tab. Look for
anything that is starting the Adobe type manager program and remove
the checkmark from the box. Reboot. Don't know if that will work,
but it's worth a try. You could also E-Mail Adobe tech support for
help on this.

First Adobe Acrobat and ATM are two different programs.

Acrobat is for reading PDF files

ATM is Adobe TypeManager and is the program that handles fonts. The
Win95 version of ATM will NOT work in WinXP. And this means that your
PostScript fonts will not display correctly in any WinXP application.
You need to upgrade to the XP-compliant version of ATM in order to use
the PostScript fonts installed on your computer.

If you do not want to upgrade, there is still a way to read your
e-mails. Open the e-mail, hightlight all the text, then change the
font to one of the Windows standard fonts like Arial or Times New
Roman.
