REMOVIING OUTLOOK EXPRESS

I have been asked to remove Outlook Express from a W2K
Server system.

I seem to recall that OE is required for W2K to function
properly. Is this correct? I cannot locate a KB to confirm
or deny, but I know I saw it at one time.
