Hi,

I have an existing image, which has a lot of functionallities.

When XPE starts up I removed the XP logo and now I also want to remove the
'Welcome' text.

Is this possible or should I create a new image for this,

Emiel

Emiel,

If I'm reading this correctly you're interested in removing the
"Windows is starting up..." text, correct? Sorry, but it's hard coded
into the Windows binary. There are some illegal hacks floating around
out there, but I really wouldn't recommend messing with those. Bad
juju. The same applies for the "Windows is shutting down..." text, as
well. There are some registry settings to make those messages
verbose, if you really want to know exactly what Windows is doing
behind the scenes, otherwise you, and your clients, will need to learn
to love them. They're such a pretty blue...

Love and light,
MrJodie

On XP(e) some of those screens can be removed with the following registry entry:
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System],"DisableStatusMessages"=dword:1
It will disable Boot / Shutdown / Logon / Logoff system status messages.
