I would like to know if there is anyway to back out of a
schema upgrade.

For example, if we install a product that needs to update
the schema. Later down the road we wish to remove this
product. Can the objects be removed from the schema. I
know they can be disable. But as more a more products
want to update the schema, is there a way to get rid of
the objects.

Also need to know just in case we have a disaster during a
schema update and need to remove the objects. We have a
multi-domain AD, with multple DC's. We would not want to
restore all domains to a backup previous to the schema
update.

Are there any products to assist in this, etc

Changes made to the schema are permanent. They can be disabled but not
removed.

Not really -- not completely.

There is some limited functionality for disabling but only Windows 2003
(in the most advanced mode) has "defuncting" of schmema changes.

Even then their is a case to be made that they are not truly removed (thus
Microsoft's choice of -- inventing a new -- word for it: defuncting.)
