How do I remove a program that is still listed in
the "Add & Remove Programs" list even through it has been
uninstalled already?

For some reason when I installed the game it listed the
very same entry twice in "Add & Remove Programs." The
second listing is still there. It does nothing when I
try to click "Change/Remove" and it doesn't offer to
remove it from the list as it will in some instances.

Thanks,

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
2. Locate the following key in the registry:
3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
4. Make sure you backup the keys by exporting them to a .reg file.
5. Look for the name of the program with the orphaned entry.
6. Delete the entire listing for the software with the orphaned entry.
7. Close the registry editor.
8. Restart your computer.

Run the Windows Registry Editor, RegEdit.exe, and
navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\Uninstall\

Locate the applicable entry for the software you are
looking for and delete it.
