How does one completely remove InterActual Player from XP-Pro. Removing
via Control-Panel Add/Remove Programs doesn't work as the next time a
DVD is inserted in the drive, the IA install window pops up.

Uninstall WinDVD.

What actually is happening, is you did uninstall it, but that DVD you are
putting in, has InterActual Player on it. So everytime you put in that DVD,
it is autoinstalling InterActual Player. Just cancel the installation, and
use w/e program you want to play that DVD.

Well crud, that was easy enough. Should have "explored" the DVD. The
makers of that DVD should be strung up ... Batman Begins.

Incidentally, someone mentioned how "great" Cyberlink PowerDVD v7 is.
Harumph ... freezes approximately ever 10 mins and has to be exited and
re-started using the place-holder feature. No OTHER DVD player app I
have does this.

Thanks

Thank microsoft for AutoRun|AutoPlay, built-in and harder and harder to
disable in each new msOS version, so that each removable disk you insert
in the machine will install the newest malware Sony Rootkit or whatever
crapware the manufacturer want to put on *your* machine.

It amazes me to see the number of posts i see here like 'help me, my
autorun don't work anymore.'. How easily it appearently has been to
indoctrinate people into thinkng that a CD is unusable and
malfunctioning if nothing happens when you insert it.
Personally i want to decide what i want to run, when i want to run it,
what i want installed, when i whant to install it, et cetera.
