Remove frames in scanning software

Does anyone know what settings I should change in Adobe Acrobat so text is
not converted into frames after converted to Word? (I would prefer to change
the settings in Acrobate upfront as opposed to Ctrl A & Ctrl Q (in Word)
after the conversion.

Any suggestions?

There is no such setting. Converting an essentially graphics format to Word
document format is always going to be hit and miss. You could try a
different method of conversion, such as Finereader, which handles it better.
