Remove first Domain Controller (PDC) from Network

We need to remove or demote the first WIN 2K server (the
PDC) setup in our network. What steps should we take to
safely change the role of the existing PDC to another
Domain Controller?

Hi Chris-

You will just need to ensure you don't have any Operations Masters left on
the DC you would like to demote. You can refer back to the DUMPFSMOS utility
in the resource kit to help or just use the MMC consoles to check all roles.
You will use the AD Users & Computers to move the PDC EMulator. After all is
checked, you can then run DCPROMO on the DC you wish to demote.
