Remove contents of a tool bar

I want to customize a tool bar however I can't seem to
change anything except turn to it on or off and lock or
unlock the tool bars. I want to delete individual items
or for that matter delete the whole tool bar itself.

Hi,

Right click on the toolbar and choose customize. a dialog
box will appear where you can add and remove icons.
