Remove .cab files?

Installed Outlook 2003. It creates a new folder "MSOCache" which contains
almost 200 M of .cab files. Are the .cab files just for installation?
i.e.., can they (and anything else for that matter) be removed?

The MSOCache file is the installation files of Office applications. This
directory is used by detect/repair and whenever you need to add a component
but don't have access to the original media. You can take a peek at
http://blogs.msdn.com/robmen/archive/2004/05/28/144005.aspx and if you
decide you want to move/remove the folder, take the first link to the
listool available @ MS.
