remove arrowheads and paraghaph symbols in a document

Help! My document is full of tiny arrowheads and the paraghaph symbol, and
need to remove them. Have been trying for hours. Thanks.

Press Shift key and Ctrl key and number key 8 for removing the paragraph
marks and symbols do the same thing.
