Remove all aspects of Outlook

I decided to use Outlook Express and remove Outlook 2000. I am left w/2
screens that nag me when I boot up and then when I select user. I am running
Windows XP: Here is the message

Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot
fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the
default mail client.

Internet properties are set to Outlook Express in every instance. I have
searched and eliminated all files relating to OE from my C drive and registry.

What is left to do?

Did you uninstall Outlook using Add/Remove programs?
What brand of computer do you have? One bios starts the mail client on boot,
but I though it did it for the default one, not just outlook.
Do you have Photoshop 4 or other older adobe programs installed? Some of the
older programs used ExMapi for their send to menu. It should only happen
with the really old versions.
Do you have something that is trying to send a message on boot?

Yes. Although I was not given a choice of removing only Outlook. I removed
all of Office and reinstalled Office w/o Outlook. Dell. Photoshop Elements
2.0. A search showed quiet a few common files dated 2002. A search for ExMapi
turned up nothing. No unsent messages. Thank you for your help. What do I do
next?
