Remove a custom style from a TOC

From previous help I have created a custom style called 'Para2' which is based on Heading 2. This is to satisfy users who wish to use Heading 2 as a heading and also Para2 to type text that continues the Heading 2 numbering

But try as I might I can't get the custom style removed permanantly from the TOC. I set-up via the Table&Contents dialog and it works. When I try just to re-update it just gives me TOC1 only. I have noticed when I delete the Para2 from the available styles list the 'outline levels' is de-selected. It works when generated from here but I have to keep re-setting up each time a generate the TO

This is driving me mad, as I am so close to a solutio

Please, please help.

Change the based on style for Para 2 to a non-outline style and update
document.
