Removable HDD problem

Besides my system drive (C) I have a removable HDD (F) in my Dell Lattiude
portable XPSP2 PC. It shows two folders (RECYCLER and System Volume
Information) which as far as I know, I did never put on that drive. When I
try to remove it (Safely remove Hardware.) I get the message:" The device
'generic volume' cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again
later". I tried already several times but no result. Also formatting this F
drive is not allowed. Can somebody help me to solve this problem? Thanks
for any advise

Hi,

Right click the Recycle Bin, configure it to have the settings for each
drive configured separately, not globally. Then disable the one for the
removable HDD. This should resolve the \Recycler problem.

Go to the control panel/system applet and click on the system restore tab.
Click on settings, then disable system restore for the removable HDD. This
should resolve the problem with \System Volume Information.

Reboot, then retry removing it safely.
