Remote Processing Call (RPC) stopped & NT Auth Stoped

New system: Toshiba Satellite A25-S208, p4 2.66, XP Pro,
Wi-Fi Integrated Wireless Lan,

While on the internet and updating Norton AV 2003; the
system logs off due to remote processing call closed
down. I fine the following log entry.

The audit log was cleared
Primary User Name: SYSTEM
Primary Domain: NT AUTHORITY
Primary Logon ID: (0x0,0x3E7)
Client User Name: SYSTEM
Client Domain: NT AUTHORITY
Client Logon ID: (0x0,0x3E7)

I have completely used the recover cd to include
reformating the hard drive.

Perhaps there is an security option that can be unchecked.
My usb mouse has stoped working.
