remote procedure call

I just reinstalled windows Xp and I now have a problem
that will crash the computer within 10 minutes of logging
online. I get a "windows must now restart because remote
procedure call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly. I
have a Toshiba Pentium 400.
Any ideas?
