I am trying to do a push install of diskeeper, and I am getting access denied. I have admin rights on the other XP pro machine, no firewall running, and have the correct usernames and passwords. Is there a way to fix these permission problems. I am also denied when I use XP on one computer and try to get into the documenets and settings of users on my other machine.....plz help

thanx

Hi

If the remote computer is WinXP in a workgroup setting, it can be
a ForceGuest issue.

WinXP in a workgroup setting defaults to authenticate all connections coming
from "the network" as the Guest User (only possible to change on WinXP Pro).

thank you for your help, but it did not work, I am still getting access denied, and also through windows explorer when I try to go into my documents and setting on the other machine, it still says that I don't have to permissions. If you or anyone else has any other suggestions pleaser let me know...thanx

Greetings:

Your browser service must be started on both machines to log-in remotely.
Go to Start\Run\services.msc\Start Computer browser service and configure
to Auto-Start..

Also configure remote access in Control Panel\System\Remote Access\check
Remote Assistance and Remote Desktop\go into Advanced Settings and check
Allow this machine to be controlled remotely. Go into Select remote
users\and Add
User Accounts.

Hope this helps.
