Remote Desktops (tsmmc.msc) broken

R

Richard Webber

I can use the windows remote desktop tool fine, but when I try to use
the Remote Desktops mmc snap in I get:

" Action canceled
Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested.
The page might be temporarily unavailable. "

I have uninstalled the admin pack and reinstalled it but that didn't
help. I have also looked at the class id's within the msc and checked
them in the registry to find out which physical files they relate to.
These are all present and have the same date and time stamps as a
colleagues machine.

Short of rebuilding my system, any ideas how I can fix this?

Cheers,

Richard.

Do you get any errors when you run the standard client (mstsc)? They
use many of the same files...

No, never received any errors when using the standard mstsc client,
however, I have worked out a fix!!

In the windows\system32 directory, run :

regsvr32 .\mstsmmc.dll and regsvr32 .\mstscax.dll

This seemed to do the trick for me. ;-)

Cheers,

Richard.
