I installed vista on my machine at home and used my xp machine at work to
connect to it from work. I worked greart for a month. Now as of Monday I
cannot connect to my Vista machine. I had just installed updates to both
machines. I am wondering if the updates are causing this problem. I can not
think of any other changes I have made to the machines.

Can you ping said machine? I wonder if the 'Remote Desktop' field, in system
is now unchecked, thus not allowing Remote connections...

Check it when you get home...

I will be going home to lunch soon. I will have to dissable my firewall and
come back to try to ping. I assume I go to the control panel, system to see if
it is unchecked. It is checked on the remote desktop settings through
computer properties as I checked before I came to work.

Problem fixed. I can't believe how dumb I am. It was a network problem, I
have an old 98 machine in the basement on my lan. I had port 3389 forwarded
though the router to the Vista machine. We had a power outage and I forgot
that 98 boots up on its own after power is restored so it got the first
address from the router. Went to put the client on the 98 machine and found
it running. Put the client on it and tested rdp on lan and it worked. Then
it finaly dawned on me to go in router and forward it to Vista's new address.

Sorry for the trouble.
