Remote Desktop or Remote Assistance?

Hello all,

I've go thru the help in XP help but feeling a bit confusing...

What I want to do is work on my office's machine(LAN) at home (dial-up). In
the Remote assistance help it seems that there must be user working on the
"request machine" (i.e. office) in order to respond to the "invite side" 's
request. Am I right? If it is correct than I probably can't use remote
assistance because by the time I back home there will be no ppl in the
office to respond my request from home.

Assume the Remote assistance can't be used in my case, then I found Remote
Desktop, but I'm not quite understand how to set it up, can anyone give me
some information (or web resource) about it?

Thank you so much for your help!

K.K.

You're right, Remote Desktop is what you're looking for.

You should be able to find the information you're looking for here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/using/howto/gomobile/remotedesktop/default.asp

Please note that you may need the assistance of your IT department to
complete some of these steps.
