Remote Desktop Connection

Scott

I am not sure if this has been asked already (if it has please direct me to
the correct thread). Is there a way to connect to a remote server that runs
Server 03 from a Vista machine? The school I teach in recently setup a new
secure server for a small group of teachers to access a specialized program.
This was done so we could work on paperwork from home as opposed to sitting
at school for hundreds of hours completing this important (and legal)
paperwork. The only problem I have had is accessing the server from my home
PC (runs Vista SP1). As far as I know my firewall/security software (Norton
Internet Security 08) is not blocking the remote connection. The server does
have tsweb installed. Any help would be appreciated...thanks.

Scott, making an outbound connection usually doesn’t create any problems for
your local machine. Based on the information you have provided, you should
be able to connect in a couple of ways. Via Internet Explorer and using the
IP address the school provided to you: http://ip_address/tsweb/
It should look something like this: http://192.168.1.100/tsweb/
Be sure to replace the number I inserted with the address the school
provided to you.

You can also connect using Remote Desktop using the IP address the school
provided along with your username/password.
