Remote Access to a Spreadsheet

We have a computer network that allows us to access a shared drive. On this
drive are to workbooks One workbook is linked to another, and both are open
on different computers at the same time. Is there any way to change
something on one workbook on one computer, save that workbook, and remotely
update the workbook on the other computer? The bottom line is the workbook
that is linked may be at a computer where no one currently is, but the
workbook needs to be updated anyways, without anyone physically going to
edit-links-update links.

Any input would be greatly appreciated,

Click TOOLS in the menu and select SHARE WORKBOOK and check the ALLOW CHANGES
check box. The advanced tab lets you set history, tracking and conflict
resolution settings.

This makes the workbook accessible simultaneously from any number of
workstations.

So let's say I have the same workbook open on two computers. If I make
changes on one, will it automatically update the other?

Thanks

Other users in the file will have to do a save to pick up any changes that
have occurred. So there has to be some user interaction.

The problem IS user interaction. There's no way to do this wothout saving at
the other location?

Thanks

I'm not certain, but I believe that the Auto Recover settings in the
application will capture updates to a shared file. Click on TOOLS in the
menu, click the SAVE tab and set the autosave to every 4 minutes or
something.
